Jennie Kahanohano was the oldest child born to George Hussey Jr. and Ellarine Papaihaleonaalii Moi Kaawa.
She married married into the "other" haole family of Waipio Valley, The Thomas's. In a phone interview, Hawaiian Artist and HIstorian Herb Kane told Dean Kekoolani hat everyone in Waipio referred two the hapa-haole families in Wapio Valley, the Thomas and the Hussey families.
Herb Kane also relates that it was said that the Husseys were good carpenters, but in general the men were prone to riotous living and drunkeness. The Thomas family was seen as upright and rather conservative, like most of the Waipio Valley community.
